Fee Structure
An important policy of
Aga Khan University (AKU)
is that its admissions
to various programmes are merit-based and means-blind. We believe
that students should not be denied admission because they cannot
afford the fees. The costs shown below will need to be considered
while developing your financial plan. The normal mix of funding
will include self contribution, scholarships, loans and other sources.
For local students, possible sources of your sponsorship could be
the Higher Education Commission as well. All selected candidates
will have the opportunity to apply for these funds.
All programmes are
subsidised
by the University. The normal tuition fees charged are about
20 per cent
of the actual cost. The table below gives details of the fees charged for the programme.

Additionally, students who come from outside of Karachi will need to consider living costs. AKU-IED offers single room accommodation. Monthly cost for full board is about PKR 10,000. Thus, per annum cost will be around PKR 120,000. Additionally, students will need to plan for out of pocket expenses.
" The Aga Khan University has announced two scholarships for PhD in Education at the Aga Khan University-Institute for Educational Development-Pakistan. The applicant should be from East Africa and should undertake to serve at AKU-IED East Africa as Faculty if selected for the program. The short listed candidates will go through the full admission process".
