MEd Programme

Academic Policy

  • All CPs are admitted to the full-time MEd Programme on a provisional basis only. The progress of each CP will be carefully monitored throughout the first year of studies, and formally evaluated at the completion of Year 1. While the formal evaluation will be carried out on the completion of Year 1, CPs will be monitored from the commencement of the programme on a course-by-course basis.

  • It is the responsibility of every CP to be aware of and to abide by AKU-IED rules and regulations. If, for any reason, a CP is unable to comply with the regulations he/she must receive approval by a faculty member and / or the Director of AKU-IED.

  • If a CP fails to attend classes for a maximum period of three weeks without written notification to the Head of Programmes, he/she will be referred to the relevant committee and may be asked to withdraw from the programme.

  • The programme provides for independent learning time. It is the responsibility of the CPs to use this time effectively, both for course-related tasks and assignments as well as for self-initiated work for their personal and professional growth. The CPs are expected to use the resources and facilities available at AKU-IED for this purpose. Further details can be obtained from Academic Administration.
